As part of the Shakespeare 2016! celebration presented by Washington and Lee University, the Staniar Gallery will show an exhibition of prints from the collection of the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C. These works on paper produced during the 16th and 17th centuries, mainly portraits and theater scenes, offer a glimpse into the world of Shakespeare’s England. The exhibition will be mounted in conjunction with faculty and students in the Departments of Art and Art History, English, and History.
The exhibition will be held from April 25 through May 27, 2016 at the Staniar Gallery in the Wilson Art Center.
