The internationally renowned American Shakespeare Center presents the thrilling tale of betrayal, violence and love with Julius Caesar. In this profoundly moving, breathtaking, and deeply human play, Shakespeare creates a fiery, engaging world turned upside down by honor and patriotism.

Performances will continue to run from September 8, 2015 through June 11, 2016 at the Blackfriars Playhouse in Staunton, VA.

To further contextualize and deepen the viewing experience of their production Julius Caesar, the American Shakespeare Center presents The Roman Series, a series of plays set in the Roman world with each performed for only one night at the Blackfriars Playhouse. The plays include,  The False One by John Fletcher and Philip Massinger (October 4, 2015 7:30 pm), Ben Jonson’s Sejanus His Fall (October 18, 2015 7 pm), Nathaniel Richard’s The Tragedy of Messalina, Empress of Rome (March 20, 2016 7:30 pm), and George Chapman’s Caesar and Pompey (May 1, 2016 7:30 pm).
